SkateNSW Artistic Coaching Accreditation 2021 - Her Sport, Her Way Workshop

The Her Sport, Her Way Sports initiative aims to empower women in sport. As such Skate NSW will run an Artistic Coaching Accreditation (Intermediate & Advanced Level) for Coaches as a way of furthering the contribution of women in Artistic Roller Skating.

Both On Skates and Off Skates Practicals will be held as follows:

Saturday 19/06/2021 - Penrith Skatel
17:00 - 19:00 - Practical

Sunday 20/06/2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre
12:00 - 17:00 - Practical (Basketball Courts)

Sessions will be presented by Student Coaches under the supervision of Skate Australia Elite Level Coaches/World Skate Level 3 Artistic Teachers, Esther Ambrus & Gawaine Davis

The Practical sessions will be available to invited Skate Stars/Development students to further improve their skills and learn some new things.

Other Coaches

Coaches that wish to attend for Education, but not participate in the Accreditation may register as a Coach

Skaters

Different classes will be organised for both Rising Stars and Elementary/Championship Level. Skaters are encouraged to participate in all lessons appropriate to their level. If unsure, please seek advice from your coach regarding what classes you should attend.

Saturday

Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating – Figures

Day/Time: 17:15 - 18:30pm – Saturday 19th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $20

The session will cover the following modules:

- Basic Forward Figure Edges

- Change of edge and forward take offs

Skater – Advanced Artistic Skating – Figures

Day/Time: 17:15am – 19:00pm - Saturday 19th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $25

The session will cover the following modules:

- Development of three turns both forward and backwards

- Implementation of three turns in circle eight and serpentine figures

Sunday

RISING STARS All Day Sunday Passes will be available for $30

Elementary/Championship All Day Sunday Passes will be available for $50

Rising Stars (+ Elementary) Classes will be as follows:

1 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating – Fitness (Off Skates)

Day/Time: 12:15am - 1:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- Fitness and Flexibility for Artistic Roller Skating

- Specific training exercises to develop Power, Strength, Agility, Endurance and Flexibility

2 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating – Footwork (On Skates)

Day/Time: 1:15pm - 2:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- Lobes and Baselines.

- Primary and Secondary Footwork.

- Mohawk and Chocktaw Turns.

- Development and teaching of a footwork sequence to a pattern.

3 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating - Three Turns (On Skates)

Day/Time: 2:15pm - 3:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium (B Hall)

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- All Edge Three Turns as applicable in Figure Skating as well as Free/Dance Skating.

Elementary/Championship Classes will be as follows:

1 - Skater - Advanced Artistic Skating – Loop (On Skates)

Day/Time: 12:10pm - 12:40pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $10

The session will cover the following modules:

- Correct technique for Loop

- Practical application for single and double rotations

2 - Skater - Advanced Artistic Skating – Axel (On Skates)

Day/Time: 12:50pm - 1:20pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $10

The session will cover the following modules:

- Correct technique for Axel

- Practical application for single rotations

3 - Skater - Advanced Artistic Skating – Jump Combinations (On Skates)

Day/Time: 1:30pm – 2:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $10

The session will cover the following modules:

- Correct technique for Jump Combinations

- Practical application for Jump Combinations with at least one Double Rotation Jump

4 - Skater - Advanced Artistic Skating – Sit Spins (On Skates)

Day/Time: 2:15pm - 3:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- Correct technique for Sit Spins

- Practical application for both Forward and Backward Sit Spins

- Sit Spin Combinations

5 - Skater - Advanced Artistic Skating – Camels (On Skates)

Day/Time: 3:15pm - 4:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- Correct technique for Sit Spins

- Practical application for both Forward and Backward Sit Spins

6 - Skater - Advanced Artistic Skating – Spin Combinations (On Skates)

Day/Time: 4:15pm - 5:00pm - Sunday 20th June 2021 - Blacktown Leisure Centre

Skaters: Elementary/Championship

Cost: $15

- Correct technique for Spin Combinations

- Practical application for both Camel and Sit Spin Combinations
