SkateNSW Artistic Coaching Accreditation 2019 - Intermediate Level

SkateNSW Artistic will run an Artistic Coaching Accreditation (Intermediate Level) for Coaches.

Both theory & practical sessions will be held as follows:

Saturday 08/06/2019
09:30    - 12:00    - Theory (Penrith Skatel - Upstairs)
13:00    - 18:00    - Practical (Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium - B Hall)

Sunday 09/06/2019 - Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium
09:00    - 15:00    - Practical (B Hall)
15:00    - 16:00    - Theory (Room)

Sessions will be presented by Skate Australia Elite Level Coaches/World Skate Artistic Teachers, Esther Ambrus & Gawaine Davis

In addition, the Practical sessions will be available to invited Skate Stars/Development students to further improve their skills and learn some new things.

*** Important note regarding the Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium ***

They are hosting the National Cat Show in the Main Hall (with over 330 cats in attendance).

Therefore please arrive early to find parking, or arrange to be dropped off.

Anyone with an allergy to cats, please be aware.

Student Coaches

Please register here (by Friday 7th June 2019), and pay the course fee prior to attending.

Cost:    $250.00 (includes Skate Australia administration and accreditation fees, compulsory texts, Sports Education registration fee and other course costs such as presenter costs, facility hire and equipment)

Note you will only be able to register for this course once you have joined SkateNSW and received your login details.

Pre-requisites

Coaches have been invited based on their known skating ability / coaching experience, but must meet the following pre-requisites:

• All participants must be a minimum CAT 2 Competitive member of SkateNSW.
  • Coaches for Rising Stars events (only) may join as CAT 3 Development members.
• Experience:
  • 12 months as a Development Coach
  • Or, more than 4 years experience competing in Junior International, Senior International or Advanced grade
    • All participants are required to have complete a free online Community Coaching General Principles course (please choose SKATE as your Sport)
    • If you have yet to do so, please email through your certificate on completion.

• All participants must be a minimum of 16 years of age to enter the training program.

• All participants 18 and over are required to complete a Working With Children Check.
  • If you have yet to do so, please email through your WWCC letter on completion.

Coaches that wish to attend for Education, but not participate in the Accreditation may register as a Coach (cost $20 per day).

1 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating - Footwork

Day/Time: 1:15pm - 2:00pm - Saturday 8th June 2019 - Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium (B Hall)

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- Lobes and Baselines.

- Primary and Secondary Footwork.

- Mohawk and Chocktaw Turns.

- Development and teaching of a footwork sequence to a pattern.

2 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating - Three Turns

Day/Time: 2:15pm - 3:00pm - Saturday 8th June 2019 - Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium (B Hall)

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $15

The session will cover the following modules:

- All Edge Three Turns as applicable in Figure Skating as well as Free/Dance Skating.

3 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating - Toe Loop/Salchow

Day/Time: 3:00pm - 3:30pm - Saturday 8th June 2019 - Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium (B Hall)

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $10

The session will cover the following modules:

- Toe Loop Jump

- Salchow Jump

4 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating - IB/IF Upright Spins

Day/Time: 3:30pm - 4:00pm - Saturday 8th June 2019 - Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium (B Hall)

Skaters: Rising Stars (+ Elementary)

Cost: $10

The session will cover the following modules:

- IB Upright Spin

5 - Skater - Beginner Artistic Skating - Group Skating Skills
