SkateNSW Artistic is pleased to invite all skaters from Rising Stars to Championship level, as well as all coaches and officials, to the Her Sport, Her Way Development Workshop on Sunday 7th March 2021.
The workshop will be presented by SkateNSW's own International recognised World Skate Level 2 Coach, Esther Ambrus, ably assisted by:
- Gawaine Davis (World Skate Level 2 Coach)
- Alicia Brown (International level skater / Intermediate Coach / Physiotherapist in training)
- Alexandra Ravenscroft-Mulvey (International level skater / Intermediate Coach / National Official - Tecnhical Specialist)
- Robert Karp (International level skater / Intermediate Coach / National Official - Tecnhical Specialist)
NSW is fortunate to have two of the four Australian Coaches recognised by World Skate, Esther Ambrus & Gawaine Davis, who along with International level Athletes Alicia Brown, Alexandra Ravenscroft-Mulvey and Robert Karp (all of who are also Intermediate Level Coaches, and Officials - with Alexandra & Robert National level Technical Specialists). It will be an invaluable learning experience for everyone and I can’t stress how important it is that as many people attend as possible.
The seminar will be open to SkateNSW CAT 1, 2 or 3 members (CAT 4 members can upgrade to CAT 3) and aimed at Rising Stars to Championship level skaters, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity and interclub friendship.
Included in the seminar will be
- On skates sessions for Free Skating & Dance
- Off skate session for fitness, conditioning and flexibility
- Artistic Skills and choreography
This workshop will continue the work of the NSW Talent ID program.

The SkateNSW Artistic Her Sport, Her Way Development Workshop will:
Deliver
- Artistic Skating Workshop presented by Internationally recognised Elite Level Female Athletes, Coaches & Officials
- Information regarding updates to Rules & Requirements for Artistic Skating inline with changes to Rollart for 2021
- Prepare participants for a return to Artistic Skating Events in a COVID safe environment
- Please note all participants will need to adhere to the COVID Safety Protocols as required by Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope:
- Anyone who is sick IS NOT to attend the centre.
- All participants are to use the QR coding system displayed on all hire areas.
- All participants are to follow the directions of the SkateNSW Artistic Covid-19 Safety Coordinator, Karen Ravescroft-Wheeler.
- All attendees need to follow the strict entry and exit directions of room, stadium and swimming areas.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to download the COVIDSafe app.
- Minimum spectators are permitted with social distancing rules applied.
- Minimal changeroom facilities are available. All players/users are to shower and dress at home prior to arriving at the centre.
- There are no water fountains available, hirers should advise participants to bring a pre-filled drink bottle.
- Maintain Social Distancing of 1.5m
- Get in – train/use area - get out
- Hirers are required to be vacated their court or room at the completion time of the booking. Set up and pack down can not take place outside the booked time.
- Stadium Courts – 30 person per court (including players and team management personnel) without a COVID -19 Safety Plan

- Recognition and Augmentation of SkateNSW Artistic Female Role Models (Athletes, Coaches & Officials)
- Increased awareness of Roller Sports as a Female Friendly Sport
- Value the diversity of Female participants as Beginners to Elite Athletes, Coaches, Officials, Volunteers, Administrators and Board members
- Recognise the important contribution Females have to Roller Sports
- Increased opportunities for Athletes, Coaches and Officials to participate at Elite Level by exposure to Internationally recongnised Female High Performance presenters
- Increased opportunities for Coaches to be trained in Female Friendly Environments
- Increased opportunities for Female Officials
- Empower existing Athletes, Coaches, Officials, Volunteers, Administrators and Board members through increased opportunities and recongnition
Outcomes
- Enhance the visibility and accessibly of Women (and Girls) across all areas of participation (from beginners to Elite Athletes, Coaches, Officials, Volunteers, Administrators and Board members) in Roller Sports.
- Increase participation numbers by promoting the many diverse choices of opportunities to participate in an already female friendly sport with a gender inclusive culture
- Recognise SkateNSW Artistic Female Role Models (Elite Athletes, Coaches, Officials, Volunteers, Administrators and Board Members) that have already lead the by with their contribution.
