The Speed Skating Community has been rocked by the unexpected passing of Andrew Jovicevic:

Hi everyone, it is with great sadness that I learned that Andrew Jovicevic passed away this morning. He was a long time friend, training partner and housemate. His passing is unexpected and a huge shock to me and many others. There are no funeral arrangements yet as the circumstances surrounding his passing are not fully known at this time but will be investigated by the coroner however I do not believe they are suspicious. I will keep you informed of any new information regarding the funeral when they are known. Please leave any messages of condolences for the family here to give them some privacy at this time.

It is with great sadness that I write this post. I have been in touch with Andrew Jovicevic’s sister (Diane Carey), she has confirmed his passing. He was found collapsed with no heart beat outside his apartment block this morning. Paramedics tried resuscitation and rushed him to the hospital where they continued to try for an hour. Sadly they could do nothing.

Andrew represented NSW and Australia many times over his career. He was part of the first Australian Masters World championship speed skating team which competed in Nanjing 2016.

R.I.P Andrew.
