Post from SkateNSW Artistic Branch
On behalf of the Skate NSW Artistic Committee I would like to express our condolences on the passing of Gordon Homes
Gordon has been a fixture at skating events and training for more years than I can remember. His smiling face and friendly manner were a great comfort to many a nervous skater.
Gordon you will be missed by all our skating family.
Thank you for everything that you did for our sport.

It is with great sadness that we inform you that Gordon Homes died peacefully in his brother's arms last night, 9.15pm on Saturday 6th February 2021.
Thank you to everyone for all your support and love, we passed on as many messages to him as we could in his last few days, and his eyes would light up in recognition and tell a little story when he could.
Gordon's funeral will be held in Wollongong and we will let you know about arrangements (and Covid requirements) once they are organised.

- Gordon Morris Homes (1950-2021)
Gordon Homes joined Nat Map's Canberra office as a Cadet Surveyor in 1971 and went on to become a Senior Surveyor and an expert in tides and sea levels. For many years, Gordon was secretary of the Permanent Committee on Tides and Mean Sea Level. After his time at Nat Map, Gordon had a long career with the Australian Hydrographic Office of the Royal Australian Navy until retiring in July 2018 as Director of Data Services after 47 years of public service. In this article Laurie McLean has provided a tribute to Gordon Homes. The article was prepared in consultation with Gordon's daughter and some of Gordon's colleagues from Nat Map and the Australian Hydrographic Office.
